The High-end Rod Series for Deep Sea Fishing by “Deep Master” Teru Okamoto

The ultimate rod for deep sea fishing, “DEEP ODYSSEY”. The rods in this series (except AKAMUTSU 220) are made with the ULDP Blank Structure. This is a technology that winds MPG pre-preg many times and makes a tubular blank with the super thick multilayer of MPG. Due to this multilayered blank, these rods acquire the overwhelming sensitiveness to the bites of deep sea fish. Not only the sensitiveness, the multilayer structure provides the durability that is naturally needed for the deep sea fishing. These two necessary factors are realized in high level with DEEP ODYSSEY.
Besides, the “extra ferrule” under the blank provides the almost same durability to this butt-joint rod as non-separated-1-peice rods due to the doubled length of the inner shaft. There is also an optional adaptor for setting every model of DEEP ODYSSEY(except AKAMUTSU 220) to Miya-epoch MAXIMUM M that is often used by experienced anglers.

FEATURES

  • ULDP BLANK STRUCTURE

    The super thick multilayer of MPG pre-preg shaped under high pressure includes less plastic and more MPG inside. This structure brings out the ability of MPG material and contributes to the features that other existing tubular blanks don’t have.

  • GCULDP BLANK STRUCTURE

    The blank’s structure with super multilayered MPG material centering an axis of medium elasticity carbon. The slim blank reduces the rod’s weight as maintaining the rod power.

    (Used for DEEP ODYSSEY AKAMUTSU)

  • EXTRA FERRULE

    The almost same strength as non-separated-1-peice rods due to the doubled length of the inner shaft. (Equipped on DEEP ODYSSEY MODEL G/R/T/TT)

    There is also an optional adaptor for setting every model of DEEP ODYSSEY to Miya-epoch MAXIMUM M that is often used by experienced anglers.

・An exclusive rod for “kinme” (Beryx splendens) with heavy tackle.
・The relatively slow action and the angle of tip section emphasize the bites and absorbs the shock on the fish’s mouth and reduces the rate of hook-off.
・The butt power is enough to break the rig in deep sea when it’s stuck on the bottom.
・The combination of the MPG material and ULDP structure provides the light feeling and sensitiveness that glass solid rods don’t have.

AKAMUTSU 220

HIGH-END EXCLUSIVE ROD FOR AKAMUTSU

・A special model that is designed by Teru Okamoto for “akamutsu” (rosy seabass) fishing in all areas of Japan.
・To get the light rod weight and the sensitiveness that they are always necessary for akamutsu fishing, the medium elasticity carbon material is used inside of MPG multilayer pre-preg (GCULDP Blank Structure).
・The flexible MPG blank parries the running of fish and avoids the damage on the fish’s mouth.
